Requests For Quotes (RFQs) are welcome and encouraged, from existing and new clients.
interCOM follows a basic policy of who we accept RFQs from, who we bid to, and various other practices outlined below. If you would like to send a RFQ to us, please make sure it follows these basic tenets, and email it to . RFQs must follow the basic guidelines set below:
There must be a description of the project for which a quote is needed.
The project must be legal.
At least two weeks must be given for a proper quote to be generated. Larger projects should be given four or more weeks. [interCOM researches a myriad of items to produce a quality quote. These items can range from local building codes to union requirements; from equipment compatibility to on-site inspections. interCOM makes sure all legal hurtles and obligations are measured and reviewed by our legal counsel before a quote is presented to the client.
Scope of work must be included, with consistency of standardization and language throughout.
No more than two RFQs are accepted for the same project within the span of one year.
interCOM does not provide bid proposals in response to RFQs that are used for fishing - where a bid is sought in order to seek other bids either at a lower price or to determine if the RFQ was complete.
interCOM makes every effort to understand RFQs. We pride ourselves on speaking English...and understand that you may not have the words necessary to articulate what you want to accomplish in geek speak. We will be happy to work with you before you submit your RFQ to make sure you are asking all of the right questions, and to let you know if you have left anything out.
We accept questions on RFQs concerning suggestions for project items or equipment.
RFQs are bid upon in writing, bound and professionally presented.
Bids are not contractual obligations.
Contracts are made available to clients after bids are awarded. No agreements are made or implied through a bid.
Warranties are made in generalized terms in bids but are only enforced through a contract. No warranties are made or implied through a bid.
Taxes are not included on a bid, but are the responsibility of a client to pay.
RFQs will not be accepted if interCOM does not a) have the opportunity to interview the person requesting the RFQ; and b) have the opportunity to make, in person, a presentation of the final bid to the RFQ requesting individual(s). |
