In the IT Support Industry, operating hours are quite a misnomer. As you are probably aware, your computers, networks, and websites do not need servicing and help only during business hours. Our industry struggles daily with informing customer of our desire to help while also trying to lead reasonable lives. Hours, as listed below, are a guideline for our clients, but not for interCOM behind the scenes.

A typical day for interCOM, whether a weekday or a weekend, begins with checking email and voicemail for any overnight concerns that came in after we walked away from the office at 2:00AM a few hours earlier. We answer those concerns through email or the phone during the hour or two before we are officially open. During that time we dispatch our service, maintenance, and contract visits for the day, and schedule the service calls that came in overnight during the times between. When that schedule is determined, hopefully an hour before we "open", we then determine if we need some of our on-call contractors to handle the overflow of work. Then we commence to calling them in. If we are lucky, sometime between 9:30AM and 10:00AM we are out on the road and, if not onsite already, certainly on our way. If you are our first call for the day, you may see some Egg McMuffin on our face. (Please be kind and tell us about it!) Typically, our regularly scheduled calls go off with very little in the way of challenges that eat up time. However, the service calls that came in overnight usually tend to be more time than originally expected, and that is simply because by the time you have seen a problem with your computer or network, more problems have been stewing underneath!

If we are fortunate, we finish our work onsite by 6:00PM. We then return to the office to work up our daily reports for invoicing purposes and for final presentation to the client. Afterwards, or during, we answer incoming emails and phone messages, solving issues that came up during the day or that are ongoing service projects for our long distance clients as we walk them through some procedures. We typically finish the day for our clients around 10:00PM. From then until it is done, we complete our in-office work and prepare as best as possible for the next day, all the while monitoring email and phone requests and working on web development projects. Typically, we finish at 2:00AM or thereabouts, and start again early a few hours later.

So, as you will notice in the hours listed below, our operating hours are for your convenience and our scheduling. We work, and are available, almost literally around the clock so that you can have a working environment that meets your needs during the hours that you are open, so that you can better serve your clientele.

We enjoy what we do, and we want you to know the reasoning behind the hours we have posted below!

Holidays begin at 5:00:01 Central Time the evening before the date in question, and end at 8:59:59AM on the day following the day after the day in question.

Although our operating hours are as listed above, this does not mean that we are sitting in our office every moment. Oftentimes, we am on site with a client. Your calls and email will be returned as soon as we receive them and in the order that we receive them.

interCOM does not have a publicly accessible office. We have a workshop where any repairs requiring tools not available in our on-site kits are done, and our office space is limited to the working area needed by our principals and the technicians to be able to readily and efficiently serve our clients at our their location.
