"Since we've been working with Kristofer and interCOM, the Brazos Animal Shelter is running more efficiently. interCOM has helped us work through some of the tough technical problems we were having, but didn't have the time or expertise to handle.

Many small organizations (and non-profits are particularly susceptible) leave computer operations and maintenance to a staff member with a little computer knowledge. When this happens, the staff member is constantly pulled away from their primary duties to help colleagues get back to work. Since the Animal Shelter began working with interCOM, I have personally freed 5-8 hours per month dealing with computer problems. As Executive Director, the Animal Shelter depends heavily on me for fundraising. Getting back those hours means that we've been able to start a Thrift Store that will bring us as much as $10,000 per month.

For non-profit organizations that depend on volunteers, the temptation might be to rely on volunteers for technical support, too. But we've found that our willing technical volunteers were not available volunteers-at least not available when we needed to get a computer fixed pronto. It's been worth paying for technical support; it's allowed us to continue the operations that serve our community and keep our income flowing.

interCOM has helped us to define mission-critical computer functions and properly identify the difference between computer problems and user error. Identifying user error helps direct our efforts toward training instead of computer fixes.
